Certified Carbon Footprint

FS Logistix is the first company in Europe to certify its Carbon Footprint along the entire logistics supply chain, according to ISO 14067. The certification, issued by SGS ICS Italy, measures and quantifies CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e) emissions per tonne-kilometre over the entire transport chain - from the first to the last mile - for rail, sea and road transport.

 

The calculation also includes emissions from shunting and terminal services, and offers objective, comparable and verified data. In this way, customers receive transparent information on the emissions generated by the logistics services provided, which can be directly integrated into the Sustainability Report, under Scope 3. With this approach based on certified measurements, FS Logistix provides transparency and credibility, and offers concrete support to the Companies’ operational and strategic choices, improving the logistics environmental performance and properly addressing ESG requirements.

Railway Logistics: for a safer and cleaner world​

FS Logistix is a leader in railway transport for waste in Italy, handling over 1 million tonnes in 2023. Using rail transportation, we offer sustainable and extensive solutions supported by a European intermodal network spanning 22 countries.​

 

Additionally, we adopt a virtuous approach that allows us to recycle 99% of the waste generated. Outside of railway traction, we also use 72% of our energy from renewable sources.

Rail logistics is increasingly oriented towards efficiency and environmental sustainability. Shifting traffic from road to rail significantly lowers pollutant emissions associated with road transport, improving the quality of life for individuals. By using trains, we can remove tens of thousands of cars and trucks from the roads, resulting in safer transport of goods and improved road safety for everyone.

For the renewal of its train fleet, it has chosen, for example, financial instruments such as Green Bonds to secure funding, demonstrating its commitment to projects with positive environmental impacts.
