12 HVO-powered IVECO S-way lorries to expand our green fleet

FS Logistix’s (FS Group) fleet is expanding with 12 new green lorries manufactured by IVECO.

The new IVECO S-Way low-emission vehicles, powered by HVO fuel and consisting of tractors and semi-trailers, and purchased by Mercitalia Shunting & Terminal - a company belonging to FS Logistix - will be used to offer efficient intermodal first-to-last mile services, and exploit the synergy between rail and road transport. The new lorries complement the fleet and update it, with 36 tractors and trailers in total.

“Adding these vehicles to our fleet is part of the strategy outlined in our Industrial Plan, with 42 new lorries expected to be delivered by 2029"  said Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of FS Logistix. “The goal is to respond to the growing demand for intermodality by offering a combined rail-road service, and providing our customers with first-to-last mile transport.
The process began in July 2023, with the acquisition of the Autamarocchi business unit, and was then furthered in March 2024 with the arrival of 10 new green lorries.”

Massimiliano Perri, General Manager of IVECO - Italian Market, highlighted the importance of this supply for sustainable transport: “By adding IVECO S-Way vehicles to FS Logistix fleet, we double down on our commitment to providing solutions combining high performance and environmental awareness. In a complex territory such as Italy, having versatile and reliable vehicles that can effectively support intermodal mobility is paramount. Furthermore, the adoption of alternative fuels such as HVO is a further concrete sign of our will to reduce the environmental impact, by promoting increasingly clean and innovative ways of transport.”

Purchase of the new vehicles is part of the actions outlined in FS Group's 2025-2029 Strategic Plan to increase self-produced green road transport services and boost intermodality. FS Logistix lorries generate low emissions and can be powered by fuels produced from renewable sources. They also include important safety features, such as technological driver assistance and connectivity systems.

This new fleet represents a further step forward in FS Logistix's commitment to a sustainable, more efficient mobility, by integrating different modes of transport to reduce the environmental impact and ensure operational efficiency. By resorting to state-of-the-art technologies and carefully considering the operational needs, FS Logistix confirms its leadership in the Italian intermodal logistics sector.

What’s more, by working alongside IVECO, the company underlines its willingness to trust reliable and innovative technology partners, capable of providing solutions tailored to the challenges posed by modern transport. The new IVECO S-Way lorries added to the fleet consolidate an integrated, flexible logistics system, ready to respond to the demands of a constantly evolving market.

The supply was handled by Romana Diesel, one of IVECO’s historic dealerships - with four locations in Rome, Frosinone, Latina and Viterbo - which, in its long activity, has consolidated business relations with a vast network, and has become a reference point for local customers.
