Bluferries Joins the Logistics Hub
In line with FS Group’s Industrial Plan to optimize sea-rail-road intermodality synergies
Bluferries, a company of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group that manages passenger and vehicle ferry services across the Strait of Messina, is officially joining the Logistics Hub today.
The operation, aligned with the Group’s 2022–2032 Industrial Plan led by CEO Luigi Ferraris, took place through a spin-off act involving the transfer of shares representing the entire share capital of Bluferries from Rete Ferroviaria Italiana to Mercitalia Logistics.
The lead company of the Logistics Hub thus becomes the sole shareholder and will also assume management and coordination activities.
This move will enable greater integration of sea, rail, and road transport, with the aim of developing traffic flows in support of the local economy.
The employment level of the maritime operator, currently comprising over 170 people, will remain safeguarded.
