Last Days to Vote for Mercitalia Intermodal Nominated for the Mobility Award

The Polo Logistica, thanks to Mercitalia Intermodal, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano and within the framework of Spoke 4 of MOST - National Center for Sustainable Mobility, is carrying out an innovative project that has been nominated for the “VCÖ Mobility Award 2023” in Austria. This award recognizes climate-friendly mobility and sustainable freight transport and is carried out in collaboration with the Austrian Ministry for the Environment and ÖBB.

 

The presented project aims to improve safety and maintenance in rail freight transport by designing and implementing an integrated monitoring system on freight trains. This system will communicate and share data and information with portals equipped with new technologies for train inspection and diagnostics.

This project is part of the effort to enhance rail freight transport, creating synergy between information systems in order to optimize integrated logistics activities while also being environmentally sustainable.
