The first in Europe to certify the Carbon Footprint for freight transport

FS Logistix - an FS Group company specialising in freight transport and integrated logistics - is the first in Europe to obtain the ISO 14067 certification for the service Carbon Footprint across the entire logistics chain.

This important milestone proves the company's concrete commitment to sustainability and transparency towards its stakeholders and customers, through an integrated vision of impact the emissions from all the services offered by FS Logistix and its subsidiaries have. This approach is unique in Europe in terms of breadth and methodological rigour, allowing the estimation of CO₂ equivalent emissions per tonne-kilometre on each route and mode of transport, from rail to road, shunting and cargo handling at terminals.

"Being the first in Europe to certify our carbon footprint on the entire logistics supply chain is both a technical recognition, and a strong signal of our strategic vision," said Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of FS Logistix. "We want to offer our customers objective, reliable and certified tools to assess emissions in an accurate and responsible manner. This way, we will support the transition to low-emission logistics, promoting sustainable choices and creating shared value along the entire supply chain."

This certification, obtained from SGS ICS Italia, is an innovative and reliable tool for continuous emission measurement, which can be fully integrated into the operational and strategic decisions of our customers, particularly those subject to ESG reporting obligations. The results confirm rail transport as the mode with the lowest emission impact, in line with the main scientific evidence. The analysis, conducted along with Renovit, in accordance with international Standards ISO 14067, PCR 2023:06 “Transport services” and ISO 14083, covered the entire transport value chain, from train shunting, road and sea transport to freight handling in logistics hubs.

This European record reinforces FS Logistix's positioning as a reliable and innovative partner in the transition to low-emission logistics, offering objective and certified data to support strategic choices and define shared environmental best practices throughout the supply chain. FS Logistix confirms itself as a proactive player in transport decarbonisation, with an ongoing commitment to transparency, continuous improvement of environmental performance, and creation of shared value with its partners.
