UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019 Certification for the FAST Service of MERCITALIA Logistics SpA

The surveillance audit conducted by KIWA CERMET on MERCITALIA Logistics SpA was successfully completed on December 11, 2020, resulting in the certification for the “Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gases at the Organizational Level for the MERCITALIA FAST Service, in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019 standard.”
 

The use of the UNI EN ISO 14064-1 standard aimed to create a “Corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory for the FAST service,” with the goal of identifying emission sources and understanding their intensity, in order to establish management policies and strategies. This also involved engaging internal and external stakeholders in the reporting of the company’s environmental performance.
 

With this certification, MERCITALIA Logistics SpA aims to:

• further demonstrate its transparency in quantifying and reporting its carbon footprint;
• monitor the company’s emission performance;
• voluntarily contribute to implementing international climate protection agreements (such as the historic Kyoto Protocol);
• enhance its "green corporate reputation."
   

This result was achieved thanks to the expertise and teamwork demonstrated by all the structures of Mercitalia Logistics involved.
